I am excited to announce that I am running for Osceola County School Board in District 5. I believe that my background in K-12 education uniquely qualifies me to represent the interests of the students, teachers, and parents of Osceola County. As a teacher and parent, I’ll fight to empower parents and give students the educational tools needed to achieve long-term success. As both a mother and a teacher who has taught in public, private, and charter school systems, I’ve seen first-hand the daily challenges that students, parents, and teachers face. This unique teaching experience helped me make informed decisions and advocate for the necessary changes in our educational policies.

As a 20-plus-year educator in the Osceola School District, I am the only candidate in the race with experience in the classroom. I want to advocate positively for our students, parents, and staff. For a successful education system to work at its best, we need parental involvement, trained staff, and motivated students.

Over the years, I’ve given so much of myself to our smallest learners. I continue to volunteer for the Math and Literacy teams, which help organize math and reading nights with parents and students invited to participate.

As a veteran Kindergarten teacher, I am trusted, highly qualified, and respected amongst my peers. Great classroom teachers always seek to create a classroom environment that is warm and welcoming, so the students enjoy their time and the enjoyment of learning.

This experience allows me to empathize with all involved in the process. Teaching my favorite subjects every day, including reading, writing, and social studies, has been the joy of my professional life. Everything I teach is new to them, making it fun and exciting. Nothing is more satisfying to me than to receive letters of appreciation from past students that I have taught, thanking me for being the person who helped them believe in themselves and put them on the path to success.

Once elected, I promise to bring this commitment to the school board and every student of Osceola County. The citizens of this county can rest assured there’s a mother and teacher on the Board who will work tirelessly to make this happen.
